Lattice model for self-folding at the microscale

چکیده
Three-dimensional shell-like structures can be obtained spontaneously at the microscale from self-folding of 2D templates rigid panels. At least for simple structures, motion each panel is consistent with a Brownian process and folding occurs through sequence binding events, where pairs panels meet specific closing angle. Here, we propose lattice model to describe dynamics self-folding. As an example, study pyramid N lateral faces. We combine analytical numerical Monte Carlo simulations find how time depends on number faces, angle, initial configuration. Implications more complex are discussed.

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...
15 صفحه اولFolding pathway of a lattice model for protein folding
The folding of a protein-like heteropolymer is studied by direct simulation of a lattice model that folds rapidly to a well-defined “native” structure. The details of each molecular folding event depend on the random initial conformation as well as the random thermal fluctuations of the polymer. By analysing the statistical properties of hundreds of folding events, a classical folding “pathway”...

abstract nowadays, the science of decision making has been paid to more attention due to the complexity of the problems of suppliers selection. as known, one of the efficient tools in economic and human resources development is the extension of communication networks in developing countries. so, the proper selection of suppliers of tc equipments is of concern very much. in this study, a ...

Folding of hydrophobic polypeptides into unique three-dimensional structures in a membrane is investigated by Monte Carlo simulations using the bond fluctuation model. Its ground state structure can be a helix or a double helix depending on the competition of hydrogen bonding and backbone bending energies. The folding pathway of hydrophobic polypeptides in a nonpolar environment is found to fav...
متن کاملLattice model for rapidly folding protein-like heteropolymers.
Protein folding is a relatively fast process considering the astronomical number of conformations in which a protein could find itself. Within the framework of a lattice model, we show that one can design rapidly folding sequences by assigning the strongest attractive couplings to the contacts present in a target native state. Our protein design can be extended to situations with both attractiv...
